ASICS Base Camp

Goal
Create a dedicated base for the ASICS Trail Team in the Chamonix Valley, giving athletes the right environment to train, recover, connect and perform at their best.
As ASICS’ first training base in the Alps, the Basecamp was designed to strengthen the brand’s long-term investment in trail running and its athlete support ecosystem.

Challenge
How could we turn this new athlete base into a place that truly reflected the ASICS approach to performance?
One that considers both body and mind, while creating an inspiring environment for media and journalists visiting the team?

Creative Answer
A refuge for body and mind.
We imagined the ASICS Basecamp as a home away from home for the Trail Team: a place where performance, recovery, connection and nature could come together.

Inspired by the flora, minerals and natural landscape of the Chamonix Valley, we developed a visual and spatial identity rooted in its surroundings, turning the chalet into an environment that felt both authentically local and distinctly ASICS. The space was designed around the daily rhythm of the athletes, from preparation and training to recovery and moments of connection, complementing the Basecamp’s access to demanding trails, its dedicated gym and the support of local physiotherapists, medical experts and a data scientist.
Beyond supporting the athletes, the Basecamp also became a window into the ASICS Trail ecosystem, offering media and journalists an authentic way to meet the athletes, discover their preparation and experience the philosophy behind the programme.
A place designed to help athletes connect, prepare and ultimately thrive, in the most inspiring trail environments.

Ben Dhiman – ASICS athlete: “Training in a place like Chamonix changes everything. The terrain, the altitude, the energy, it pushes you to go beyond yourself in a unique way. It’s not an opportunity every athlete has access to, but the ASICS Basecamp now gives us the chance to fully focus on our training and recovery, while connecting with our teammates and other trail running enthusiasts. Being at the heart of trail running is exactly what young athletes, in particular, need to take their performance to the next level.”
